Disappointed with the star anise
"I love your products and recipes, but I'm afraid I'm really disappointed with the beef stock. I've been preparing, marinating and making my first attempt at a beef bourguignon for a dinner party tonight. I wasn't confident about making my own beef stock, and the recipe said to buy the best quality beef stock you can afford, so of course I chose yours. But the star anise just dominates all the other flavours and really doesn't work for this dish. I've been working on this for days and I'm so disappointed. I will continue to buy your other products, but not the beef stock unfortunately."

Liquorice and beef don’t always mix
"There’s a strong flavour of liquorice, either fennel or star anise… in what would otherwise be a rather clean and mild beef stock. It paired well with some mushroom sauce hidden under the strong Worcestershire but it absolutely ruined my bolognaise."

Ruined our meal
"Maggie Beers beef broth ruined my stroganoff meal. I was so disappointed because we had special friends over and it was a much anticipated meal together. The star anise, cinnamon and ginger totally over powered what they describe as a "traditional " beef broth. Absolutely disgusting but just, why?"

Extremely weak and watery
"Unfortunately the stock is very watery and weak. It’s just a step above using water for making gravy, soups etc… There’s a faint smell of the star anise and ginger, but because it’s so weak you could put it in just about anything. If your going to sell a stock, why have it so it’s just water with the essence of beef in it?"
