Great Australian Bake Off

Maggie is so excited to be part of the current series of Great Australian Bake Off on Lifestyle Food, and equally as thrilled to see so many of her delicious products being utilised by the contestants on each episode. To be sure you can recreate any of the recipes you see on GABO, we've put all of Maggie's products that have been baked into cakes, biscuits, pastries and pavlova on the show, into the one place. Great Australian Bake Off might well be happening in your kitchen this weekend!

“I remember moving to the Barossa all those years ago and immersing myself in country life, that seemed like it was ever so. Always learning from my neighbours the difference that fresh almonds of the season made to the flavour of a tart; utilising every ingredient as the rhythm of the season rolled on,  becoming a ‘country cook’ with  the scents of the kitchen full of that just-baked dish brought to the table to share, with the beautifully aromatic perfume of the quinces that had simmered all day and then baked into a yeast dough.  It's this very notion that fascinates me about baking and a big part of my excitement at working with the team at Foxtel for the very first time on this new series of the Great Australian Bake Off."

Constitution Cake

"During my tenure as Senior Australian of the Year, I was so proud to be asked to make our nation’s first ever Constitution Cake. I presented the cake on Constitution eve at the High Court in Canberra, and spoke of the thinking behind the making of the cake. I wanted to bring together the beautiful flavours of our native fruits (the Davidson’s plums, quandongs and muntries) that marry so well with the dried fruit and almonds of the early settlers, and the crowning glory of the macadamia paste. This cake is so beautifully rich in every sense of the word that just a small slice is needed. You'll find my take on this recipe, and so many more, as part of the current series of Great Australian Bake Off, Tuesday 8.30pm on Lifestyle Food."

Maggie's Tried and True Pavlova

Pavlova can seem like a daunting place to test your baking skills, but did you know it was one of the very first desserts that Maggie learnt to make? It might be time to (re)discover your love of baking with Maggie's Dried Apricot Pavlova...
